Yet another windy one with 20 knots plus before the start. Downwind to the Nab but no spinnakers up off the start as it was too tight but after about half an hour some went up but did not look like a good angle so we kept ours in the bag. Wind dropped off quite dramatically approaching the forts but picked up again once out into the Eastern Solent. Out past the forts the angle looked a little better so we put up our 90% and held it pretty well to the Nab with only a few broaches. Port rounding of the Tower and sheets eased for the first leg back, No. 3 and one reef initially but had to put the second reef in as the wind got stronger. Finish at Coronation and then for the second part of the weekend plan which was to sail down to Poole for the JOG Poole Cowes race on Sunday. However, with the headsail dropped and heading down the Solent into 30 knots on the nose and 25 miles to go we decided that the Cowes Tandoori was a better prospect and headed home. Picked up the results later and not bad with an 8th out 30.
